I got home at about 9:30 and immediately fell asleep. I woke up again under the impression that it was the wee hours of the morning only to discover it was only 1:17 am.
Today/Yesterday I dusted off a murky part of ole' Edwina history. Lmao I was looking up movie times for Alvin & The Chipmunks because Edward was too much of an incapable sod to do it himself. Mum then went about to ask me if I wanted to go. I said an outright no because a day with two pre-puberty boys and a 13 year old stick with a breaking out voice, was not my idea of fun. I instead went ahead to alternatives to my day to realise I hadn't seen my old school childhood friend Arlen. Lmao. I knew him since Kindergarten and I was more than certain our parents were trying to arrange marriage us or something.
Anyways I told my mum naturally because him being a family friend would intricately involve her in a way. So she called up the Huang household and yes she ended up talking to Arlen. I eventually had to take wheel on speaking with Arlen because this is what my mum said (A/N: It's translated from Cantonese but you can still here the awkward implications in my mothers message)
Ma : Hello Arlen! YunYun (Edwina's Asian name) asks would you like to come over her house to play with her.
Right Mum. As if that didn't call for faux pas maintenance. So I ran outside into the living room where the embarassing voice of my mother sounded off the walls. This lead to a ten minute or so conversation with Arlen trying to figure out what next for today. LOL . Just in case, Hi Arlen! I like talking to him on the phone, feels like there was never a distancing gap of a year between us. Lmao, eventually I got tired of jumping around hoping for inspiration for tomorrow that being today's activities and leeched his email instead.
With free communication in my belt we soon settled for a day at the City. First a most beloved visit the MCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) and following that we were going to have Pancakes on the Rocks, play House of the Dead 4 and then watch the 1420 Juno. Yay !
Settling those details we ended up playing MSN games until 3:30. Not bad.
The next morning I had pancakes for breakfast and then went online. Realising that I just had my planned lunch for breakfast I told Huang who was unsurprisingly online in the morning, that I didnt want flapjacks for lunch. Note, aren't flapjacks and pancakes entirely different foods?
I went to go get Edward's school uniform. Really damn religious schools ! There library is gigantic and Edward can't even appreciate that. All he can do is rub it in my face that I can't bully him about having an Asian groin-sized library.
Met up with Arlen at Strathfield at 11:30. Lmao he doesn't look any different, maybe taller.
I don't remember much of the train rides, just lazy lazy lounging around in seats : p
So we went to the MCA. The Julia Rrap exhibition was amazing! Yet it was probably one of the creepiest exhibitions I had seen as of yet. There's this video where she slowly melts into her own puddle of flesh and it's accompanied by these loud sounds of breathing and I was expecting any second for her to crawl out of the screen The Ring style. There was alot of body moulds, theres these ones you can touch and watch yourself on video, I did try. It was kind of eerie, like the video, I was being watched and it was all kind of horror filmy. And the fact that her hands had been where mine were weirded me out a little. OMG ! The Body Double display was horrifying, I walked into the dark room and ended up clutching Arlen for dear life. There were two 3D plasterish bodies and theres a video of a naked man the same size of the bodies rolling from one cast to another. And when his video lands on top of the casts you'd think that it was a real man lying naked on the floor. I didn't like it, yet I couldn't stop watching.
So afterwards we caught a train back to Town Hall with our same City tickets : p
We had McDonalds where I watched some lame to blame tv show called My Super Sweet Sixteen where the go around flaunting theyre indisposable baby fat and kissing wincing men. Woohoo.
After McDonalds was House of the Dead time ! :D Very fun. So fun in fact I'm sure I uesd like 12 dollars on that machine. Nevertheless. I still suck though, like I have to have Arlen prompt me when to press the grenade button lmao.
Went to watch Juno. It was pretty good, it was beyond expectation in some aspects yet disappointing in others. I didn't cry which really shocked me though I was mroe than sure I was about to in one of the scenes. I thought the closing scene when they were singing to each other was very very sweet. : )
Sunny Jay FTW ! : D I love how Juno speaks, it's lovely. I think she was a very lucky girl.
And I love Bleeker XD
Afterwards we played House of the Dead, again. We went to buy some ice cream where I told Arlen he wasn't allowed to pay because he was in the habit of dropping his money (which he was), only to drop my own coin at that precise moment. Great timing.
There were alot of comfortable silences lmao. I like not feeling compelled to talk for every breathing moment of my life though. Afterwards discovered a spare $2 dollar coin, YES ! Which meant one more game at Galaxy World, which I had sworn to my mother to keep away from. Ma, no one's going to stab me in the neck for being a girl when play House of the Dead 4 (i.e. squealing and laughing every few seconds and complaining how they victimise girls in the game, oh yeah cos games can do that. Gender differentiation - -) Anyways decided not to play House of the Dead but instead Mario Kart, the speakers were too loud and I pwn'ed Arlen :D Yeah 50c.c. that's why XD
Attained ourselves a copy of the very realiably compact MX and went our separate ways after that. I wonder when I'll see him next. Probably when his mother calls me to go play with his son. Though I'd doubt she'd embarass her son like that.
Okay at Flemington I bought myself a packet of chips. I arrived at Homebush Boys to be flocked with juniors, sigh theyre cripping. It's very cute but kind of embarassing to know I entertained myself with that without the influence of G-ster friends : p Anyways, was worried that I was here on the wrong day because no one was here until K&K showed up. Phewph :)
Anyways the big MEGAQUIZ turned out to be nothing :| Just some HSC questions on the first-hand investigation with the alkenes/alkanes reactions with bromine water and the uses of commercially significant polymers. Woohoo =/ I got almost full marks from silly discrepancies. Oh well :)
Dear you, I'm sorry I've let it become like this.
Yawn- That was my last Mono Chem lesson, ah shucks. :D I won't miss them because I'll still see them all at least once a week lmao. I won't see Ronald at all though, which is really quite sad.
Okay uber sleepy. Lmao at David Henry's face, if that isn't in anyway insulting :)
Okay back to bed for Ed.
I woke up at 12 in the afternoon as usual to my 3am sleeping habits. Nine hours would seem healthy no?
Like promised I got myself ready to go pick Kathleen up after work only to hear the younger brother next door fiddling with nothing. Mother bear has cut the circuits in his room so no television or computer for him. The poor fool lmao. I felt slightly bad for the fellow so I invited him to come to Parramatta with me. As soon as lunch was over, I would've included lunch in the itinerary but it was already provided.
To some degree I think it's important not to severe the links between younger siblings. This is especially important for people like me where a generation gap acts as an obstacle between the process of understanding younger siblings. Take example my conversation with my brother at one point:
Edward : Did I tell you about the time I wrestled Franklin?
Edwina : No...
Edward : Well do you want to hear about it?
Edwina : No...
Can I be blamed that the only wrestling I'm interested in is professional wrestling? So I walked with my brother today and I learnt alot. Nothing direct but more about him and his ideology. I didn't so much as approach it ebulliently like Dr. Somebody from Pygmalion and his little dialect guinea pig. (What I'm expected to remember names now? :O)
Today Edward and I went to EB Games because the boy wanted to find a game. If I remember correctly it was LOTR: Rise of the Witch King. EB failed us so we headed off to Toys 'R' Us, realising that if EB didn't have it the likelihood of Toys R' Us having it was far less. Afterwards we headed off to Borders with an hour to spare before Kathleen finished work. I read the illustrated version of the Great Gatsby and Edward read a Family Guy comic. The comic I was reading was interesting, it allowed me to further appreciate the novel itself because the attributes of the characters were even more so highlighted by drawings. I'm glad that Edward is reading a Family Guy comic as opposed to I don't know a South Park comic but I'm also slightly worried. Isn't it all a bit advanced for Edward? Can he really appreciate the humour behind Family Guy without getting too influenced by the blatant crudeness of it all. It's like Summer Heights High all the kids watch it just like their teenager older siblings do. However, we laugh at different things. I laugh at how closely Chris Liley exploits contemporary human nature whilst Edward laughs because of Jonah's ubiquitous phallic desicration (can't spell). Isn't it all a bit much for his impressionable mind? I tried explaining parody to him today and I had to refer to Rove McManus, doesn't that kind of say something. That the only route in which younger generations develop a sense of humour is a bit narrow? They all have to experience some rather tasteless attempts at entertainment before they get to the good stuff?
After Borders we realised we were hungry again so with the money Mum left us and the left over wage I had I bought us sushi. Edward had a California roll which I can't understand since that's FISH OVARIES that his consuming whilst I bought a Chicken Katsu roll. Tasty enough. Amy brought up my maternal habits again on the 2nd of Jan lmao and I realised I probably am. Edward made a mess as usual and I had napkins saved on from previous eating expeditions handy. We then had ice cream where we witnessed a bout between opponents of ignorance. A man was blowing his whistle off at this woman for displaying her scorn at him for leaning over and taking a straw from the lid of the straw dispenser instead of the bottom like the rest of society does. It's rude to impose someone's personal bubble like he did but it's also rude to be questioning someone's motives. If he wasn't comfortable with the standards of a straw that has been aired about for a couple of hours then let him finger his grubby hands with the mass of straws. Then again I practically contradicted his actions seeing as putting his hands in from the top is practically allowing later patrons who use the straws to be confronted with the 'dirty straw' issue just as he had been. Bravo mankind.
McDonalds do receive alot of interesting strangers according to the manager (from whom I so happened to overhear from) and from my first hand witnessing, an Asian man makes his daily rounds to sing to all the stores in the food court. Wow. I admire our acceptance of this behaviour but it's only a majority which means there's always a minority standing there with their condescending, disgusted looks on their face as they are faced with a situation that deviates from the norm to them.
I'm talking about nothing so let's stop. Afterwards met up with Kathleen. A change in behaviour was noted in Edward with Kathleen around, he was alot more ostentatious, scrap that he was alot more EMBARASSING. The peculiar wheel in his behaviour was suddenly rolling alot more than usual.
I remember a talk with Edward where he asked me if our parents were getting divorced. I was stunned as that was the first I ever heard of it. So I tried probing him for more information but he mumbled on about nothing and I realised that the incoherence of everything he said was probably my fault. Our lack of daily communication has resulted in a decline in understanding and moreover trust. I haven't heard about divorces since, I don't think my parents are divorcing. They're far too old-school and conventional to file a divorce. They would just work around it and stand each other for the rest of their lives. However everyday I'm confronted with the fact that divorce really exists that it isn't sheerly limited to havoc-wreaked families with rapist fathers, junkie children and a hooker mother. 'Normal' families, families I know of are segregated by divorce and wow, their families aren't all that different to mine. We exist in the same.. ring.
Walked home and afterwards we opened myself a new neopets account and we watched a couple episodes of Avatar. I finished 107 hurrah ! :p
Lmao thanks for the eighth dayer Kathleen. Her hair is gangster-long now lmao. Look it's the last air-bender Fang and his slut of a girlfriend Edtara ! :p Ah. Ooh earth-bending leema !
Okay pressing issue of Japanese homework which I really should do :( And Vivienne I'm really sorry I forgot to sign up for TSFX, at least I wont be suprised that you got 99.99999 UAI for the HSC not that I wouldve been suprised if you didnt go TSFX anyways. :) Thanks for telling me about it though, it means alot.
Auf Wiedersehn.
